By Staff reporter 7 March 2017

Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will continue to coordinate their energy security efforts, the presidents of both counties told reporters following talks in Ashgabat.

The leaders discussed Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan’s involvement in large-scale energy projects in the region, including the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline, said Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, according to official Turkmen media.

“We are ready to intensify our cooperation within the framework of a project on electricity supplies from Central to South Asia along the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route,” Berdymukhammedov added.
