High gas prices in Australia are increasing pressure on the government to introduce a gas reservation policy, according to The Courier Mail.
Gas-fired power plants stand idle because of the high cost of fuel, while priority is being given to coal and renewables.
This is despite the huge amount of gas that is exported as LNG from plants in Queensland.
