Gas transit through Ukraine increases in January and February

The volume of gas transported via Ukraine increased by 31.4% on an annual basis – equivalent to 3.95 billion cubic metres – in the first two months of 2017.

The volume of gas transported via Ukraine increased by 31.4% on an annual basis – equivalent to 3.95 billion cubic metres – in the first two months of 2017, according to operational data from Ukrtransgaz.

Of the 16.54 bcm that transited the country during January and February, 15.79 bcm was sent to Europe, the company said. Ukraine’s domestic gas production increased by 0.5% year on year, equivalent to 17.8 million cubic metres (MMcm), during the period to reach to 3.36 bcm, according to Ukrtransgaz operational data.
