Woodside trials LNG as a transport fuel

Australia’s Woodside Petroleum is looking to sell LNG as a bunker and transport fuel.

Australia’s Woodside Petroleum is looking to sell LNG as a bunker and transport fuel. The company is seeking to convert cargo ships carrying iron ore from the Pilbara region to China to run on LNG in a trial project.

It could also use LNG to fuel the fleet of trucks that run from the mines to the ports. The company has an LNG-fuelled support vessel and has begun design work on a truck-loading facility at its Pluto LNG export plant in the Northern Territory.
