Ukraine imported 11.1 billion cubic metres of gas from European suppliers in 2016, 8% more than in 2015, according to recent data published by Naftogaz. The country imported no gas from Russia in 2016 and overall imports fell by 32%, according to Naftogaz. A trilateral meeting in Brussels in December 2016 did not yield an agreement regarding supplies of Russian gas to Ukraine this winter.
