Saudi Arabia’s Yamama Cement Co. has selected Wärtsilä to build a 161 MW combined-cycle power plant.

The €115 million ($128 million) contract includes all EPC work for the facility plus operation and maintenance for five years.

The first part of the project will be completed by the end of 2017 and the project will be fully operational by the second quarter of 2019.

The plant will primarily run on gas, with light fuel oil and crude oil as back-up fuels.
