Uruguay’s hopes of importing cheap LNG may have been set back by the Brazilian economy’s descent into crisis, an official from Uruguayan state-run utility UTE has told Interfax.

"The situation with Brazilian company OAS, the main subcontractor for the civil works, could be one of the reasons for this outcome. OAS suffered the fallout of Petrobras’s problems in Brazil and went bankrupt," UTE planning chief Pablo Mosto told Interfax.
