United States-based oil and gas major ConocoPhillips is considering a development off the coast of North Australia to deliver gas to its Darwin LNG project once supplies from the Bayu-Undan field in the Timor Sea are depleted in 2022, according to the Australian Financial Review.

The report said the major is looking to invest $21 billion in 2018, but will need a significant reduction in costs before going ahead.
