Höegh LNG has signed a 20 year FSRU contract with Chile’s Octopus LNG for its Penco-Lirquen import facility, to be located in Concepción Bay.

The contract is subject to obtaining approval and securing financing. The project has an estimated startup date of 2018, Höegh said in a statement.

LNG imports will help to meet increasing gas demand in the region and provide fuel for the planned El Campesino power plant.
