Total’s shale gas permits under threat

The French Government is expected to make an announcement today regarding shale gas exploration permits that have been granted to energy major Total, as well as US energy firm Schuepbach, Interfax has learned.

The French Government is expected to make an announcement today regarding shale gas exploration permits that have been granted to energy major Total, as well as US energy firm Schuepbach, Interfax has learned.

“We are expecting a government announcement on the permits this afternoon,” Anne Dorsemaine, press officer at the Ministry of Energy, told Interfax on Monday morning. At the time of going to press, the announcement was still pending.
