Belgium’s Fluxys and Italian gas transmission system operator (TSO) Snam are working to establish reverse-flow capacity from Italy into northwest Europe that could also transport gas from Azerbaijan through the Southern Corridor to central European markets.

“We are developing reverse-flow capacity [to serve] central and northern Europe,” Claudio De Vincenti, Italian deputy minister for energy, said at the Malta Energy conference on 11 July.
