India’s gas production in the first three months of the 2012 fiscal year has so far exceeded its target by 7.5%, but remains about 11% below its level in the same period last year, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas reported on Wednesday.
Gas production between April and June 2012 amounted to 10.9 billion cubic metres, up from the targeted 10 bcm, according to the ministry. India’s output for June also surpassed the target of 3.3 bcm to reach 3.5 bcm.
