India faces growing electricity demand as its strong economic growth continues to drive up energy consumption. The country’s government has made increasing renewable output central to its plans for meeting future electricity use. However, the greening of India’s power generation will be gradual despite ambitious plans for new wind and solar capacity – and coal-fired generation is set to rise.
