The key issue: GRTgaz, one of France’s two transmission system operators, has decided to abandon the Eridan and Arc Lyonnais pipeline projects, two key branches of the EU-backed MidCat connection between Spain and France.

Interfax analysis: GRTgaz’s decision to abandon the Eridan and Arc Lyonnais pipeline projects could be the nail in the coffin for the proposed MidCat pipeline, an EU-backed development that aims to strengthen the interconnection capacity between Spain and France.
