The key issue: The Japanese-backed consortium behind the planned FSRU at Port Kembla is looking to increase its import capacity in response to significant interest in offtake from industrial buyers in New South Wales.

Interfax analysis: The expansion plan for Australia’s Port Kembla FSRU will push the project’s startup past 2020, potentially putting it behind other importers into the region but still ahead of the expected firming up of the domestic market in 2023-2024.
