Pakistan has the potential to become a significant LNG importer. The government’s plans to expand the country’s gas market include rising volumes of imports – both as LNG and via pipeline. The government has taken steps in recent months to drive its gas agenda forward. However, progress on Pakistan’s proposed LNG terminals continues to be thwarted by setbacks, putting into question the potential pace of expansion over the next five years.
