The key issue: Total announced on 24 July that it had concluded a gas sales agreement with Benin’s state electricity firm that will see it moor an FSRU in the country’s waters and supply it with LNG for 15 years from 2021.

Interfax analysis: The contract signed last week between Total and Benin’s state power company, SBEE, stipulates the French major will supply 500,000 tpa of LNG to the country for 15 years, sourced from the IOC’s global portfolio. A host government agreement will also...
