The key issue: The Indonesian government approved a revised development plan for Shell and Inpex’s Abadi LNG plant on Tuesday, improving the commercial viability of the 9.5 mtpa scheme and giving hope to Chevron regarding the company’s own plans.  

Interfax analysis: The approval of a more fiscally attractive plan for Abadi LNG should encourage Chevron as it seeks to push through a revised development plan for its giant Indonesia Deepwater Development (IDD).
