The key issue: Turkey’s decision in early July to send a second drillship to Cypriot waters has raised tensions across the East Mediterranean region.   

Interfax analysis: Turkey’s readiness to escalate its offshore dispute with Cyprus will have wider consequences for the East Mediterranean’s gas sector, reinforcing the concerns of IOCs about the region’s difficult geopolitics and the vulnerability of its hydrocarbon projects.
