The government of Australia launched a multi-pronged 28-day consultation round on Monday for stakeholders in the country’s nascent hydrogen sector.

The move is part of wider plans to develop and publish a National Hydrogen Strategy later this year and to develop a fully fledged hydrogen industry for exports into Asia. The ultimate aim is to build upon Australia’s LNG export ties to supply the region’s burgeoning demand for hydrogen as major LNG buyers such as Japan and South Korea transition to low-carbon fuels.
