The average price Japan paid for LNG fell below $10/MMBtu for the first time in eight months in April, to $9.68/MMBtu. This represented a drop of $0.92/MMBtu compared with March but was virtually flat year on year. Japan’s average LNG import prices increased over the period from May 2018 to February 2019, rising from $9.67/MMBtu to $11.15/MMBtu.
