The key issue: Colombian government departments have begun holding regular roundtable meetings to advance plans to introduce pilot shale projects.

Interfax analysis: Colombia is stepping up efforts to kickstart long-stalled pilot programmes for unconventional oil and gas exploration. Meetings were held between government departments in May to lay the groundwork for the pilot projects, a spokeswoman from the Ministry of Mines and Energy told Interfax Natural Gas Insight
