The key issue: Anadarko said on Monday it will resume takeover negotiations with Occidental Petroleum after Occidental made a $38 billion cash-and-stock offer that could lead to a “superior” deal than the one Anadarko has arranged with Chevron.

Interfax analysis: Anadarko aims to take an FID on its Mozambique LNG project by the end of the month, following the bidding war that has started between Occidental Petroleum and Chevron to buy the company.
