The key issue: The Vietnamese government is ready to approve development of the country’s first private LNG-to-power project.

Interfax analysis: Delta Offshore Energy is expected to receive an investment registration certificate within weeks for its proposed 3 GW LNG-to-power project in southern Vietnam. The certificate marks the official approval granted by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and issued by the local planning department for the scheme, which is targeted to begin initial operations by early 2023.
