The key issue: Pakistan’s government decided last August to prevent Pakistan LNG – the state-mandated LNG importer – from bringing in additional supplies – a decision that led to domestic gas shortages in December and January.

Interfax analysis: A gas shortage in Pakistan in December and January jolted industrial and non-industrial users alike during the peak of winter.
