South Korea’s LNG imports fell by 16.5% year on year in February as a result of the milder winter and restarts at the country’s nuclear reactors. Nuclear power output fell below 9 TWh in February 2018 compared with 12.4 TWh a year earlier. The reduction in nuclear generation led to a large increase in generation from combined-cycle power plants, which increased their output by 29% year on year in February 2018.
