The key issue: Italy is planning to build at least 13 small-scale LNG projects, but only two are currently under construction.

Interfax analysis: Italy’s small-scale LNG plans received a boost in January when construction began on a 20 thousand cubic metre (Mcm) project in Ravenna in the northwest of the country. The facility is the second of its kind to start construction in Italy after Higas began work on a similar 9 Mcm facility in Oristano in Sardinia last year.
