Limiting global warming to 2C will not be possible even if the world accelerates the adoption of low-carbon technologies in the power and transport sectors, Wood Mackenzie said in a report on Friday.
“A two-degree world remains out of reach in our accelerated scenario. Much more needs to happen around lowering non-power sector emissions to achieve such an outcome. Political momentum will be crucial and at present climate leadership is lacking,” said senior analyst David Brown.
