Indonesia’s government is seeking to reduce the use of fuel oil and gas for power generation as part of its Electricity Procurement Plan from 2019-2028, according to The Jakarta Post.

The policy is designed to make power more affordable. It is expected that hydropower and geothermal power will replace gas as they provide low-cost electricity, but it will take time for these plants to be built.
