India has received bids worth $822 million for oil and gas exploration in 55 blocks in the first round held under the OALP.

India has received bids worth $822 million for oil and gas exploration in 55 blocks in the first round held under its Open Acreage Licensing Policy, according to Mining Weekly.

The round saw Vedanta win 41 out of the 55 blocks on offer while Oil India Ltd., Oil & Natural Gas Corp., Gail, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Exploration Co. won the remainder.
