The government of Mozambique has approved a $34 billion integrated electricity infrastructure plan that plots the sector’s development over the next 25 years, Construction Review Online has reported.

The document outlines an increase in generation capacity to 17.7 GW from the current 2.6 GW and includes hydropower, gas-fired and coal-fired assets.

Gas will have the largest share of this, with 8.5 GW of capacity.
