LNG makes up 20% of Polish gas imports

Polish LNG imports increased by 64% year on year between January and August 2018, state-owned PGNiG said on Wednesday.

Imports of gas from Russia increased by 7% over the period.

LNG imports now account for 20% of Poland’s gas imports, while piped Russian gas represents 74%.

The increase in both LNG and pipeline gas imports is the result of a rapid rise in domestic demand, PGNiG said.
