Rising LNG exports from the MEA region will add to the global LNG oversupply this year and next.

In North Africa, Egypt and Algeria are bringing a slew of upstream projects online, which will support LNG and gas exports from the two countries. Projects such as West Nile Delta and Nooros are already helping Egyptian LNG exports, while the Zohr project – the first phase of which is expected to come online in Q4 2017 – will provide an additional boost. Higher production from Algeria’s In Amenas and In Salah projects, together with efforts to curb gas re-injection for EOR, will continue to help the country’s LNG and gas exports.
