Angola’s dependence on the spot LNG market will not fade even though the country has recently signed term supply contracts.
The greater involvement of portfolio players in Angola will mean more of the country’s LNG will be sold on the spot market. In September, Angola LNG (ALNG) signed LNG sales agreements with RWE Supply & Trading (RWEST), Vitol and Glencore Energy UK Ltd. Details of the three contracts, including volumes and durations, have not been made public. RWEST, Vitol and Glencore are portfolio players and are involved in trading on the spot market, where they are expected to sell the bulk of their Angolan volumes.
