Delays in resolving Qatar’s diplomatic dispute will encourage exporters such as Nigeria and the United States to capitalise on gaps in the UAE and Egyptian markets.

It is in Qatar’s long-term political interest to maintain healthy relations with its Gulf neighbours, which means the diplomatic spat should eventually be resolved and relations will return to normal. Consequently, Qatar will remain a strategic supplier of LNG and gas to countries such as the UAE in the longer term.
