LNG exports from MEA countries are increasing, partly as result of rising gas output in several of the region’s exporters.

MEA countries exported 11.52 mt of LNG in April, which was an increase of 13.1% on an annual basis. Year-on-year rises in LNG exports were observed from Qatar, Nigeria, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Equatorial Guinea, Angola and Egypt. However, the pace of export growth will moderate over the coming months as gas-to-power demand ramps up in several exporting countries during the summer. GGA forecasts total LNG exports from MEA countries will rise by 2.5% on an annual basis in 2017, to 130.7 mt.
