Middle East & Africa: Production
The startup of the West Nile Delta (WND) project in Egypt will be a major milestone in the country’s transition to becoming self-sufficient in gas production.
Egypt’s marketed gas production is expected to rise year on year in 2017 for the first time since 2014. The fact that the country’s key projects are ahead of schedule will only quicken the process. BP started commercial operations from the first phase of its WND project in May – eight months ahead of schedule and under budget.
