Egypt plans to tender for a third FSRU by the end of this year with the aim of installing the vessel by mid-2017.
Egypt is poised to become the biggest LNG importer in the MEA in 2016, and expects its reliance on the fuel to grow even further next year. Egypt launched a medium-term LNG import tender in October for the 2017-2018 fiscal year that has been reported to be the biggest of its kind. GGA understands LNG procured under the tender will primarily supply the third FSRU.
