Demand for gas and LNG in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) will continue to rise in the coming months, helped by weather-related demand during the northern hemisphere summer.
Gas consumption by key MEA countries – the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, Algeria, Nigeria, Yemen and Libya – rose by 2.9% on an annual basis during summer last year, to 157.9 bcm. GGA expects this figure to rise by 1.5% during the summer of 2016 (June - August).
