Qatar’s Indian LNG netbacks are among the highest it receives from its various customers, which is encouraging the Qataris to send greater volumes to India.
Qatar’s netback from India for June LNG deliveries has so far averaged around $4.3/MMBtu. This is higher than netbacks from Northeast Asia, Latin America and Europe, which stand at $3.9/MMBtu, $3.8/MMBtu and $3.5/MMBtu respectively. Hence, Qatar sent 4.1 mt of LNG to India in the first four months of 2016 compared with 2.8 mt during the same period last year.
