The power sector is set to drive the MEA’s gas demand in the coming months as the northern hemisphere approaches the peak summer demand period.
Kuwait is boosting its gas-to-power capacity in preparation for the summer. In March, it started commissioning the first phase of Al-Zour North project, which has a capacity of 1.5 GW. The project also includes a 486,000 cubic metre per day desalination plant that is still under construction.
