Turkey is increasing reliance on spot LNG to meet gas demand as the fuel becomes price competitive with pipeline gas.
Turkey is expected to increase its LNG imports in the coming months to meet growing gas demand from the power and industrial sectors. The country has long-term contracts with Algeria and Nigeria, but it is also taking volumes on the spot market – making use of low LNG prices.
