Ukraine is continuing to build up its gas stocks at a strong pace.
Ukraine currently has around 12 billion cubic metres of gas in storage, with stock levels having risen by roughly 1.4 bcm over the past month. This rate of injections follows a similar trend to that seen in June, and the country’s stock levels have risen by 3.7 bcm since the start of April. There are approximately three months left to build stocks, and if Ukraine maintains its solid injection rate it will have more gas in storage at the start of winter this year than it did at the same time last year – barring any early onset of cold weather. Ukraine had around 14.7 bcm of gas in storage at the beginning of winter last year.
