With China showing growing signs of stabilising, the country’s economic outlook has improved for this year and next.
China’s GDP is forecast to grow by 6.6% in 2016 and 6.4% in 2017, according to the latest forecast from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Both figures mark improvements of 0.1 percentage points from the ADB’s previous forecasts. The government’s fiscal and monetary stimulus is supporting domestic demand, while improving external demand is also boosting the outlook for the year. Improved economic growth will help further expand the country’s gas market.
