Lower stock levels in Japan will not be enough to boost LNG requirements.
Japan had around 5.5 bcm of gas in stock at the start of February. This is marginally below the average of the past three years, but will not be enough to support an increase in LNG imports over the coming months. South Korea had around 3 bcm of gas in storage at the start of February, roughly the same as the average over the past three years.
