Americas: Production

October 2017

Latin America’s gas output is set to decline for the second consecutive year in 2017.

Falling gas production in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Bolivia will weigh on the region’s overall gas output this year. However, the trend is expected to reverse in 2018 as production recovers in Trinidad, Brazil, Argentina and Peru. The combined marketed gas output of the key countries in Latin America and the Caribbean fell by 0.8% year on year in 2016, to 215 bcm. GGA forecasts their output will fall by 1.4% year on year in 2017.
