Hurricanes are continuing to cause havoc in Central America, the Caribbean and the United States.
The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season is so far the eighth-most-intense on record. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is expecting 14-19 named storms during the current season, of which 5-9 will be hurricanes and 2-5 will be major hurricanes. The hurricane season runs from June to November, and this year’s season has already produced five major hurricanes – Maria, Irma, Harvey, Jose and Lee.
