The rate of net withdrawals from US storage sites has been higher so far during the 2016-2017 gas withdrawal season than it was during the same period last year. Greater demand from residential and commercial users, in addition to the power and industrial sectors, is putting pressure on the country’s stocks. Net gas drawdowns in the US averaged 2.27 bcm per week in the first ten weeks of the current withdrawal season compared with 1.29 bcm per week during the same period last year.
