Brazil is focusing on reinjecting gas for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) because its demand for gas is faltering but gross production is still rising.
Gross gas production in Brazil is rising, supported by increasing output from the country’s pre-salt acreages. Brazil’s gross output was 5.9 bcm in the first two months of 2016, an increase of 3.5% on an annual basis. The country’s pre-salt gas production rose by 42.9% year on year during this period, to 2 bcm.
