Europe and Russia

  • Coal prices have continued their recovery. Richards Bay front-month futures on the ICE rose to an average of around $61 per ton in July, up by 5.6% from an average of $57.75/t in June. Prices are currently 24.5% above the January lows of around $49.25/t.
  • ARA coal prices averaged $57.2/t in July, which was a rise of 10.8% from the $51.60/t average in June. ARA prices are currently 31% above the annual lows of $43.40/t recorded in February.
